Chef Derrick Johnson
Derrick began his culinary experience as an intern for Omni hotels at the age of 16. He received formal training at the Texas Culinary Academy Le cordon bleu and has trained under Chef Benjamin Nathan, a protege of Master French Chef Jean Micheal Bergougnous. He has more than 17 years of experience and is focused on bringing a new look and taste to the Magnolia Event Center and Magnolia ISD.
Mike Overman - Director of Event Facilities
Mike has worked for Magnolia ISD since 2002 and has more than 17 years of experience as a licensed athletic trainer. His experience working behind the scenes ensuring events operate smoothly is what has made his transition to the Director of Event Facilities position an easy one. His passion for coordinating activities, dedicated work ethic and attention to detail reinforces the Magnolia Event Center exceptional experience vision.
